Now that the long awaited House in english has been released,
(a mighty fine job of it I may add)

Lets get another thread going for posting some of your idea's and suggestions for add-ons - perhaps some of us will be inspred enough to starting writing it  Smiley

With .98 around the corner - they may inspire mods for the .98 version when that is released also.

- - A key shop that sells keys or replaces lost keys

- - Deteriaton mod that slowly deteriates a house - more faster if many players occupy the house, slower if only one - this will cause a need to make repairs, an additonal Ye Olde Carpenter Shoppe for player to visit - can pay for maintence or have carpenter make full repairs -  deteriate mod should lower value of house and storage capacity at same time - if no repairs are made - the house over time becomes condemmed and becomes a ruins.

Well, as I have discussed with strider..... I think the neighborhood watch/troll needs to be replaced with guard dogs/cats/monkeys..... pets in short.... with a pet shop to buy pets of varrying levels..... also would like to see a way to decorate a house.... It could be an upgrade of some sort or just something for players to waste gold on.....  As in this world... Property Tax?  And some of our users are basically running a boarding house.... integrated renting?Huh  And Renting with no stake in the pot?   Ohhhh... so much you could do like plant a garden that needs to be tended to.... Feed your pet to heal them...

infact the property tax section i want in my mayors mannor mod im asking for.. Cheesy (asking if any one can help make it)

--ADDONS--

you goto the builder and ask for the following..

1) varander..  (so players can go there and they get a description of there property (I.e make it so each property can have a different description  (I.e oh, your going to be building on Lot 1, this is a vary nice plot and is over (x) acers in size) ect (admins can set the descriptions))

2) buy a bigger tresaury

3) buya pet house (if the pet store is there this way the pets have some were to rest (must need before u can buy a pet sorta thing))

4) celler that can store stuff??  

4) a shop so u can buy furniture??

just a few things Cheesy i think these would make the game greate..

(oh before i forget..  big number

5) be able to buy better security.. (i know this is sorta covered in pet shop.. but like being able to hire guards that you have to pay a set ammount of money per day ect, this way its not really easy to save money,.. makes ppl wanna work hard))

well what do u think of my ideas??

(u can prob see ive been thinking of these ides since i heard the house mod was being made lol)

I already threw this list over to Strider, but thought I'd put them out for comments...

- A list for occupants of a house to see Who is currently in the house (online/offline)
- Enter and Rob links in the estate listing table
- Ability for Homeowner to elevate other members of household to homeowner status for purpose of sharing keys etc.
- Ability for Homeowner (and designates) to delete comments
- Ability for Homeowner to post household announcements
(Above 3 points very similar to the clan hall setup in Central)
- Allow other players to contribute towards the completion of an estate (maybe at a discounted exchange rate for gold and gems, ie cost 3 gems to contribute 1)
- To make estates more difficult to obtain, include firegems and crystals (or other realm specific special items) as part of the required price.

I could make an upgrades for the housing.....it shouldn't be do hard....I will make some different add'ons...any ideas? Party Room etc...

I could make it where you can buy an upgrade and then it will show up in your house....like maybe a bathroom? Closet? Attic? I haven't fully read this thread so some of these Ideas may have already been mentioned.....

If the Housing is expanded to include other sections, what I want to see is someone come up with the (probably java) code to Render the houses on the fly...

Render the base house....add the Servant's Quarters...3 Minarets...a Stables...the Lake....

Then in the House table, the various textures or whatever could be configured.

Maybe I need to go back to playing The Sims....

Based off of the "make it harder to obtain" thing, I think personally on my server if I put the estate mod on, it'll be only available to those with 20+DKs.
Even in AD&D you don't get a fortress/tower/etc until you're like level 15, which is someone very very very buff.

i would like the ability, whether it be a veranda or some other means, to be able to see the description given to an estate.

since not all players have a key to each estate and there are some quite creative scripts written to describe the estates, it would be nice to see them.

i agree that having an estate should be made more difficult. i view it as a status symbol. on that tack, if not limited by cost and/or number of dk's, the ability to enhance/enlarge the estate should be given as the player gains in dks.

how can a farmie or squire own the same thing a prince(ss), king/queen or god(dess) does?
